If a food business can’t accommodate certain allergies, that’s understandable. Making fun of people for asking whether they can eat safely is another matter entirely. Food allergies can be life-threatening, and customers deserve honest information—not ridicule. ![]()
People with food allergies can take a joke too, but this clip was not in the least bit funny. All it achieved is opened up a can of worms for keyboard warriors in the comments section to continue to insult food allergy sufferers. With mean spirited comments coming from other food establishments too. ![]()
This is very disheartening for the food allergic community. A sad day that is showcasing how ugly and tone deaf certain Singaporeans and certain food establishments can be. Our hope is that not all Singaporeans are like this, and that majority can see that food allergies is not a choice, we are simply trying our best to live our best lives too. And to those mean spirited Singaporeans and food establishments, we hope you can pause for a moment and consider if you had a child or a loved one with severe food allergies, how would you feel if you were at the receiving end of these comments?
